One of PATT's tree planting partners has an income generation project located in Northern Thailand close to the Myanmar/Burma border, based on fair trade principles. Their mission is to create village-based jobs for ethnic minority women so they can stay with their families instead of being forced to migrate to distant cities. They do this through the design and production of handicrafts. All profits from the venture are used to fund further community building programs.
